The purpose of this study is to help improve understanding of the scale and sources of fugitive methane emissions (i.e., small unintentional gas leaks) from California’s commercial buildings.

The study seeks to conduct 100+ on-site leak detection tests and receive 300+ survey responses from the following building sectors: office buildings, lodging/hotels, schools/education, healthcare, retail, food, and warehouses.

Short Online Survey:

This study also includes a short survey about your business’ building characteristics and gas usage. It contains 15 short questions that should only take around 5 minutes to complete. Providing this data will help orient our on-site testing team before their visit, while helping state policymakers to estimate fugitive emissions and create better, targeted solutions.
